Drilling Banned in Hartville, OH

“Village Council has prohibited the use of hydraulic fracturing on property the village owns or controls. Five council members agreed to the ban Tuesday. A sixth council member, Kelly Ries, did not attend the meeting. The drilling technique is used to extract natural gas from rock about a mile underground. The council’s action does not affect private property or land other governmental entities manage.”
